Ingredients - organic black seed oil

Black seed oil is created from the seeds of the black cumin plant, which is native to SW Asia, the Mediterranean, and Africa, and has been grown for centuries for its flavorful seeds that can be used as a culinary spice or as an herbal medicine. Black seeds and their oil have been traditionally used as a treatment for various health conditions that relate to the respiratory system, digestive tract, kidney and liver functions, cardiovascular system, and the immune system.

Black seeds and their oil contains a variety of active ingredients such as thymoquinone, alkaloids, saponins, flavonoids, proteins, fatty acids, and many others that have been shown effective to treat a variety of different diseases. Among these, thymoquinone (TQ) proves to be the most abundant compound in the oil of black seeds and many of this herb’s healing properties can be attributed to it.

Many studies on black seed and its oil have indicated that they can have beneficial effects when used in therapies for different diseases. 19 clinical trials were done to determine the effects that black seed had on dyslipidemia (imbalance of lips, especially cholesterol, in the blood), which plays a major role in the formation of cardiovascular diseases. It was found that the use of black seed supplements can improve the lipid profile (lipids are fats that cannot dissolve in the blood; high lipid levels increase risk for heart disease/heart attack/stroke) and also prevent cardiovascular diseases in both healthy people and hyperlipidemic patients. With this, “dyslipidemia is an important risk factor responsible for cardiovascular disease in patients with diabetes, so alleviation/elimination of lipid abnormalities is important in the prevention of the complications of diabetes”. We mention this because it is important to keep the lipid profile of diabetic people in the normal range to improve their health, and black seed intake, along with a combination of anti-diabetics or statins (aka the red yeast rice in this formula) can help diabetic patients control dyslipidemia and blood sugar.

Along with this, black seed and its oil have been demonstrated to be useful in weight-loss in obese men and women. Due to its lipid-modifying, hypoglycemic, and weight-lowering effects, black seed may be beneficial for people with metabolic syndrome (a cluster of conditions that can increase risk of heart disease, stroke, and type 2 diabetes).

Black seed may also be useful for improving sexual function, boosting the immune system, and be an optimum choice for treating allergy-related diseases such as asthma, atopic eczema, and hay fever. It has also been studied and been highlighted for its anti-micorbial effects against bacteria, viruses, and parasites.

Cymbiotika’s red yeast rice formula contains organic black seed oil for its ability to improve lipid profile and the cardiovascular system. In conjunction with red yeast rice, black seed oil is a powerful herb that may help keep diabetic people’s lipid profiles in a normal, healthy range. Along with this, black seed oil contains many immune boosting compounds along with having anti-microbial effects.
