Organic Moringa Extract

Moringa is a nutrient dense superfood that comes from the Moringa Oleifera tree. These trees grow in tropical and subtropical countries, but are also grown commercially in India, Africa, Hawaii, and throughout Asia and Southeast Asia. Moringa is commonly known throughout the world, and especially in Eastern Medicine, as a powerfully healing plant with many health benefits. We have incorporated a special Moringa Leaf Extract Paste in our Adrenal Super Tonic for it’s unique nutritional make-up of vitamins, minerals, amino acids, fatty acids, and antioxidant compounds.

Many studies have revealed that moringa leaves can be beneficial in aiding against chronic conditions such as high blood pressure, diabetes, insulin resistance, non-alcoholic liver disease, and general inflammation, while also providing therapeutic value for anti-diabetes, anti-rheumatoid arthritis, anti-infertility, pain relief, anti-depression, and thyroid regulation.

The dried leaves of moringa serve as an abundant source of polyphenols, or plant compounds, such as flavonoids and phenolic acids. Flavonoids are natural substances that, when ingested, have been shown to protect against chronic diseases that have been associated with oxidative stress such as cardiovascular disease and cancer. The main flavonoids in moringa leaves are myrecytin, quercetin, and kaempferol. Quercetin is a powerful antioxidant with many therapeutic properties including its protection against diseases such as osteoporosis, certain cancers, pulmonary and cardiovascular diseases, and also against aging. Phenolic acids have antioxidant, anti-inflammatory, and anticancer properties. Dried moringa leaves contain high amounts of the phenolic acid, Gallic Acid, which plays an important role in glucose metabolism-- the process of converting the sugar from food into a form of energy that our cells can use easily.

Since guava leaves contain high levels of antioxidants, they may be useful therapeutic agents for neurodegenerative diseases such as Alzheimer’s Disease, Parkinson’s disease, and Huntington’s disease. Due to the price of synthetic anti-dementia drugs and their corresponding side effects, products with high levels of flavonoids (such as guava leaves) have gained interest as potential candidates for the prevention and/or treatment of these neurodegenerative disorders.
