Pyrroloquinoline Quinone

PQQ is a bacterial biofactor present in soil, on plants, and in animals. It stimulates plant and bacterial growth, and when animals eat the plants (or soil) that contains the bacteria, they also get the PQQ. Biofactors extremely similar to PQQ have even been detected in interstellar dust, suggesting that it has been an important component of the global ecosystem for billions of years. PQQ appears to interact with a number of physiological processes, including both mitochondrial function and biogenesis. It improves mitochondrial respiratory control (1) and stimulates mitochondrial biogenesis.(2)

WHAT IS PQQ?
PQQ (Pyrroloquinoline Quinone) is a leading edge compound that offers remarkable benefits for a versatile range of uses. This vitamin-like micronutrient can be found everywhere in nature — soil, plants, fruits, and animals. It is essential for a healthy mind, heart and body.

WHAT ARE THE BENEFITS OF PQQ?
Among its wide range of benefits, PQQ is commonly used as anti-aging prevention and protection for the health of your most vital organs, including the brain, heart, and liver. Studies have shown that PQQ can provide:

CARDIOVASCULAR SUPPORT:

PQQ improves blood circulation and cardiac function, supporting energy production in the heart and providing powerful antioxidant protection. Studies indicate that PQQ can also promote recovery from heart attacks and reduction of infarct size.

LIVER SUPPORT:

PQQ aids the liver with fat metabolism to break down more fats and convert into greater energy output. Clinical results show it may also reverse acute and chronic liver injury, including damage from fatty liver disease.

In addition to supporting your vital organs, PQQ is used as regular supplementation to augment and sustain higher levels of natural energy production. By stimulating your body’s pure energy production at the cellular level, PQQ serves as an excellent energy supplement for a broad range of uses. It is especially ideal as a sports and fitness supplement for athletes seeking more pure and natural alternatives to boost their performance.

Perhaps the most unique and unexpected benefit of PQQ is its use for cosmetic and skincare applications. It rejuvenates your skin cells, rebuilding healthy tissue for thicker skin and fewer wrinkles. PQQ can be effective as anti-aging prevention not just for your brain, heart and liver, but also as a cosmetic anti-aging treatment for your skin.

In short, PQQ is the emerging superstar supplement with a variety of benefits to revitalize your mind and body and we are honored to bring a FERMENTED version into the mix with Glutathione and Lactoferrin.

“Pyrroloquinoline quinone (PQQ) is a novel biofactor for which a proposition can be made for physiological importance. PQQ was first recognized as an enzyme cofactor in bacteria. It has recently been tentatively identified as a component of interstellar dust. Thus, PQQ may have been present throughout early biological conception and evolution. PQQ is also a potent plant growth factor. Consequently, for animals and humans, there has been constant exposure to PQQ. In animals, PQQ is reported to participate in a range of biological functions with apparent survival benefits (e.g., improved neonatal growth and reproductive performance). There are also benefits from PQQ supplementation related to cognitive, immune, and antioxidant functions, as well as protection from cardiac and neurological ischemic events. Although PQQ is not currently viewed as a vitamin, its involvement in cell signaling pathways, particularly those important to mitochondriogenesis in experimental animal models, may eventually provide a rationale for defining PQQ as vital to life. For humans, such evidence suggests there may be similar parallels or benefits from improving PQQ status.” (4)

“PQQ has been shown to be a ubiquitous molecule that influences a multitude physiological and biochemical processes. In this review, we have presented recent studies supporting the role of PQQ in maintaining and improving human health. There are potential benefits from PQQ supplementation related to lipidemic and glycemic control, prevention of cardiovascular and neurodegenerative diseases, and improvement of brain functions. Recent evidence suggests that PQQ can be useful for various health benefits through different mechanisms including redox activity, radical-scavenging activity, and modulation of cell signaling pathways.” (5)
