Butterfly Pea Tea with Elderberry Defense

Who here has heard of/tried butterfly pea tea before?! For all the moms out there, this recipe is dedicated to you and you’ll find out why down below.

Blue butterfly pea, also referred to as Clitoria ternatea, is a plant species that originates from equatorial Asia, and is known in India as the “holy flower”. Butterfly pea has been used for thousands of years in traditional Ayurvedic medicine for its abilities to enhance memory, reduce stress & depression, improve cognitive function, ease anxiety, and calm the body/mind. Along with this, traditional Chinese medicine practitioners have also used this plant to enhance female libido.

Some other benefits of butterfly pea tea include:

May fight against cancers: this powerful plant contains cyclotides, which have peptides with anti-tumor benefits

May boost brain health: butterfly pea contains Acetylcholine (a neurotransmitter), and when consumed, it may increase Acetylcholine levels in the brain. When Acetylcholine starts decreasing as we age, this can cause loss of memory.. so this is the perfect tea to enjoy to keep the brain healthy!

May prevent premature aging: butterfly pea is full of antioxidants and contains properties that reverse the damage caused to the skin by Glycation.

Great before/during/after pregnancy: butterfly pea has been longed used for its ability to aid in conception and provide a healthy alternative to caffeine during pregnancy.

As we all know, moms work harder than anyone else. Studies have shown that during/after pregnancy, hours of sleep for women decrease, while stress levels increase. This can lead to depression, fatigue, anxiety, digestive issues, premature aging, low libido, and overall burnout.

With all of this being said, we wanted to create a delicious tea with blue butterfly pea to support moms through their journey of health and vitality. We have also incorporated our Elderberry Defense into this recipe which contains zinc, copper, and echinacea. This formula has been known to enhance energy levels, fight against bacteria, and support overall wellness.

Please share this post with a mom who could use this potent elixir! And if you really want to earn some brownie points go ahead and treat her to this the next time you see her! :)
