The leaves of stevia are sweeter than sucrose and contain zero calories, which makes them a great alternative to sugar for people who are diabetic and obese, and for childen as well. Stevia has also been shown to exhibit antibacterial, anti-inflammatory, diuretic, anti-fertility and cardiotonic properties to name a few.
